GEMS Al Reem Secondary School

The project is a state-of-the-art secondary premium school by the educational leaders GEMS in Al Reem Island, Abu Dhabi. It is a realization of a modern and effective educational infrastructure design. The school will be the nurturing platform for 6 years of a student’s life from Grade 6 to 12, paving the learning journey for up to 2000 students every year. As both a symbolic and functional strategy, the array of windows on the façade brings natural light into the building, heightening the space quality just as how education and knowledge empower the students. GRFN’s scope is to provide sustainability consultancy advising all design teams (architectural firm, MEP engineering firm, structural engineering firm, Architect of Record, Contractor) on the optimum and feasible sustainable features that can be included in the design. GRFN conducts Project Management for Estidama compliance scope which includes managing the teams to ensure the compliance with the regulation. GRFN is also the Independent Commissioning Agent of the project.
