GEMS National Schools for Boys and Girls

2015

The energy modeling for GEMS Al Barsha School is an analysis of the energy performance of the boys school building to be built in Al Barsha, Dubai, UAE. The report is based on design features that have been modeled using the information contained in the design drawings and documents that GRFN received from the designer. The energy modeling is carried out to estimate the energy consumption of the school and to develop an understanding of energy end-use patterns. The results at the end of the report depict real life energy consumption and performance data, which are based on the requirements highlighted in ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2010 Appendix G. The objective of carrying out simulations is to identify the percentage energy savings of the proposed building in comparison to the baseline building which is as per the requirements of 90.1-2010 Appendix G.
