  • To introduce sustainability concepts in the context of the built environment.

  • To explain the purpose, structure, and application of the LEED rating system as a global benchmark for green buildings.

  • To highlight the importance of integrating environmental, social, and economic dimensions into building projects.

  • To familiarize participants with the LEED certification process, prerequisites, and credit categories.

  • To encourage learners to adopt sustainable practices in design, construction, and operations through LEED principles.

Objectives:

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Define sustainability and describe its relevance to the building and construction industry.

  • Identify the pillars of sustainability and explain their influence on green building strategies.

  • Understand the structure of LEED, including credit categories, point allocation, and certification levels.

  • Describe the LEED certification process, from project registration to certification award.

  • Apply LEED principles through case studies and practical examples.
